Lemax 74221 Ghost Around

Being scared is an experience that all human beings have shared.  Whether it's someone jumping out at you or something much deeper, we've all been scared.  I believe that it's why horror movies, haunted houses, and roller coasters or carnival rides are so popular.  They tap into that feeling that we've all had, but there aren't any consequences.  You have that little jolt of fear and continue on with your day.  So why not extend that little bit of excitement on to your Lemax Citizens?

Ghost Around was a Michael's Exclusive in 2017, but now we got ourselves access to it.  It is an animated piece with lights that turn on and off, the ride spins and moves up and down, and it has a cool soundtrack with a spooky song and the sounds of the kids.  Lemax has a video that you can view here and it shows you everything that goes on with this piece.  It also comes with the power adapter and only requires one outlet to plug into.

I personally enjoy the size of the piece, I wasn't expecting that.  The paint and sign work on it is very enjoyable as well.  Each of the riders is wearing a different costume and watching them spin around and with the ghosts on the outside is great.  The only caveat is that you have to turn the piece off when you want it to stop.  If you unplug it or turn off the surge protector it's plugged into, it could break the piece.  The mechanism that creates the movement needs to wind down and it only does that when it's turned off by the switch.  Now that doesn't account for power outages, but it isn't a guarantee that it'll break if it loses power, just a possibility.  We recommend setting it up a little closer to the edges of your display and maybe using its own outlet, so that it has easier access and its own designated power.

Even with that, Ghost Around is a very cool piece to add to your Lemax village and give its residents a good fright.  From the soundtrack to the motion to the ghosts, this piece has all the factors to create that sense of wonder when surveying your village.  For more spooky goodness, check out this video about this piece and some other exclusives from the same year.  Also check out our Pinterest board and follow us to get updates on awesome decorating ideas throughout the year.

Ice skating can be one of the most beautiful things to witness, but also one of the most painful to learn.  As anyone who has ice skated can attest to, it can make you very cold and very wet, very fast.  You also learn why hockey players wear all those pads.  You need a good sense of balance and to make sure that you don't give up.  It can be very daunting and there is a lot of room for quitting, but if you learn how, you get to glide around the rink like you're in a fairy tale.  Our piece this week from Lemax is just a tiny piece of that.

There's something inherently thrilling about gambling.  There's the obvious, you're betting money in the hopes of attaining more.  Since money has become so ingrained in our society and key to our survival, gambling means that you aren't just betting money.  Which is the part that is infinitely more thrilling and why, I believe, it is one of the oldest pass times in human existence.  This week we have a piece from Lemax that encapsulates that very same thrill.
