Lemax's Ferris Wheel!

Lemax's Ferris Wheel!

Ferris wheels are a staple of fairs and amusement parks.  They have an iconic look that is immediately recognizable.  Despite being a simple ride that is almost always the same thing, there are always people riding them.  This is most likely due to the relative safety it offers while providing a relaxing view of the surrounding area and the motion isn't too crazy.  Let's take a look at Lemax's version that we can add to our villages.

Lemax's The Giant Wheel

Once a year the state fair roles into Plymouth Corners to bring joy and fried food to the patrons of the town.  Their most prized possession is aptly named Giant Wheel.  It remains the most consistently busy ride year in and year out.  This is due to the genius of the proprietors in deciding to set up the ride in a different spot every year.  Giving everyone who rides it bit of a different view.  However, once the sun sets, the ride really shines.  The ride itself not only lights up, but it gives a view of the neon fair and the cozy houses beyond.

This piece is one of our favorites.  It is one of the biggest pieces we have, but it really pushes the whimsical nature of the Lemax villages to the brink.  It can easily work as a centerpiece, but we like setting it up in the background so as not to block anything else, but its size makes it still quite visible.  If you check the Lemax website, it has also been retired, so pick one up while you can!

And, as always, happy village building ;)
