Zombie Plane Ride

Zombie Plane Ride

Carnival rides tend to encapsulate the very essence of Halloween.  Giving everyone that rides them a good thrill.  A thrill that is created by a combination of the fun that comes from a celebration and just a tiny dose of fear.  Fear that one of the fine employees putting the rides together made sure all the screws were there.  Today's piece has just a bit more fear.  Due to it being run by zombies.

Zombie Plane Ride would normally be your standard kiddie ride.  Fun, up and down, roundabout motion.  The screams of children filling the air as they believe, for just a moment, that they can fly a plane.  It's an infectious thing, the joy of children.  It's one of the things that make Disneyland "the happiest place on Earth".

Now, this ride is a little different.  The zombie riding along the top makes that quite obvious.  Thankfully, he doesn't seem very interested in their brains. He seems to be very content with just riding around and around, getting dizzy.

This piece has all the great quality that is typical for Lemax.  The ride does all the motion you would expect, the planes go up and down and the whole middle spins.  It has the customary green lighting that comes with most Spooky Town pieces along with alternating lights on around the rim.  It comes with the ride operator that can be set up wherever is best.  As per usual, you do need one outlet nearby to power it.

This piece is a great addition to your existing village or, as discussed in our last blog post, it can bring that little bit of Halloween flair your entryway or a side table by the couch.  For more great ideas on decorating throughout the year, make sure to follow our Pinterest page.

Little Cute, Little Scary

Mashups are almost always good.  The television show Glee created all kinds of song mashups that garnered them enough praise to create six whole seasons of content.  The movie Zombieland mashed up horror and comedy so well that it resonated with fans long enough for them to get a sequel made ten years later, which comes out in theaters today, October 18th.  In fact, horror and comedy often get mashed up because they both tap into very primal emotions, fear and joy.  We have a tiny dose of that today with these pieces from Lemax.

Lemax's Grim Balloon is spreading spooky cheer!

October 11, 2019

Spooky cheer sounds like an oxymoron.  Most things that are spooky aren't cheerful.  Scary clowns, creepy skeletons, and haunting ghosts are usually not associated with rainbows and roses.  However, as previously discussed in one of our previous posts, fear has a place in most exciting things in life.  Whether it's a bigger fear about having a new adventure or something inconsequential like freaking out over a jump scare in a movie.  So, this week, we are talking about Lemax's resident aeronaut, the Grim Reaper in his Grim Balloon.

Roll the Bones
Roll the Bones

October 04, 2019

"Roll the bones" is historically a phrase that refers to rolling dice at the Craps table.  The masterful band Rush wrote a song about it that you can listen to here.  It's a phrase that has become synonymous with letting fate decide and dealing with the outcome once it happens.  Today, we will be talking about some of the bone figurines that Lemax has rolled out.
